Wanda J. Slayton

Wanda J. Slayton, daughter of the late Dennis Hughes and Mary Viola Breedlove was born on February 1, 1940 in Lafont, Arkansas and departed her life on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her residence in Chaffee and the age of 80 years.

Mrs. Slayton was united in marriage to John Chiles and Mr. Chiles preceded her in death.  She was then united in marriage to Glenn Kinder and Mr. Kinder preceded her in death. Wanda was united in marriage to Claude Slayton and he also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Bobby (Sharon) Smith of Illinois, Lindell (Angie) Kinder of Rockview, Missouri, and Danny (DeAnn) Kinder of Scopes, Missouri; by three daughters, JoWanda Chiles of Chaffee, Glenda (Pete) Brown of Waynesville, Missouri, and Sharon (Matt) Wiseman of Jackson, Missouri; one sister, Sylvia M. Mabrey of Wentzville, Missouri; also, by 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Johney, Clarence, and Carl Hughes; by one sister, Marie Burton; and by two sisters at infancy, Kathrine Hughes and LaVonda Hughes.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.  Interment will follow in the Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee
