Zena Paige St. John
Zena Paige St. John, beloved daughter of Sheri Holder Rister of Scott City and the late Brian Keith Conklin, was born on October 5, 1992, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She departed this life alongside her precious son, Daxton Lou St. John, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Scott City, Missouri, at the age of 32.
Paige’s love story with Joel Michael St. John began long before their wedding day. From the moment they met, she committed herself wholeheartedly to their journey together — through every joy and challenge, Paige stood by Joel with unwavering love, strength, and devotion. Their bond was deep and enduring, built on laughter, trust, and shared dreams. Though she was known for her spirited nature, Paige married her soulmate on February 8, 2025, with all of their beloved children present, creating a moment that felt like a scene from a movie. Joel survives her, along with their cherished children, Deaghan St. John and Delayni St. John.
A devoted mother and wife, Paige lived every moment for her family with a heart full of love and a spirit that lit up every room. She was fiercely present — the kind of mom who never missed a game or practice, always in the front row with a proud smile, cheering louder than anyone else. Whether it was late-night school projects or crafting the most creative Valentine’s Day boxes — which may have been her favorite — Paige poured her heart into even the smallest details, making everyday moments feel magical.
She also shared an unbreakable bond with her mother, Sheri — more than mother and daughter, they were best friends, soulmates in laughter and love. They spent nearly every day together, filling their lives with joy, shared memories, and a deep, unconditional connection that was beautiful to witness.
She was the kind of friend you could count on through anything — loyal, fierce, and unfiltered. Paige didn’t believe in sugarcoating; she told it like it was, but always from a place of deep love and care. Her honesty, boldness, and heart made her unforgettable to those lucky enough to be part of her life.
Paige found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She adored her animals — her loyal dog Cleo and her cat Boots, who both passed alongside her, as well as her dog Ziggy and her beloved chickens, whom she lovingly tended. She had recently taken up gardening and was especially proud of her sunflower patch, excited to grow fresh food and flowers for her family. Paige’s spirit was playful and thrifty; she was known for lighting up every room she entered, her unforgettable laugh echoing behind her, and never turning down a good $5 off coupon on Saturdays at Dollar General.
Paige’s life was deeply rooted in love, faith, and family. She was affiliated with Father’s Arm Fellowship Church in Scott City and will be remembered as a nurturing, strong, and selfless woman who touched everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband, Joel Michael St. John; her children, Deaghan and Delayni; her mother, Sheri Holder Rister; brothers Jody Rister, Jamie Holder, and Johnney Conklin; sisters Graycie Conklin, Marley Conklin, Breanna Rae Conklin, and Loren Conklin; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Daxton Lou St. John
Daxton Lou St. John, the joyful and radiant young son of Joel and Paige St. John, passed away alongside his mother on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He leaves behind a grieving yet forever loving father, Joel; his big brother, Deaghan; and his big sister, Delayni, along with his grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many others who adored him.
At his tender age, Dax was blossoming into a vibrant and special boy. Each day brought new words and more of his growing personality. He loved the movie Cars—his eyes would light up at the familiar sounds and characters. He also enjoyed Toy Story, but only the original! His playful spirit and bright smile brought joy to everyone he met, filling his family’s life with boundless love and wonder.
Everyone knew Dax was 100% his daddy—just full of fire, grit, and heart. And maybe that’s part of why God needed him and his momma together. Paige was the only woman strong enough for a boy like Dax—strong enough to raise him, love him, and now, hold him forever.
We’ll never forget the day he surprised his mom by eating a fish stick—the same boy who wouldn’t touch a thing—then suddenly, boom! She gave him that fish stick, and he was all in.
Though his time here was heartbreakingly short, Daxton’s impact was immeasurable. He will forever be remembered as a beautiful soul who brought joy, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
